Cloud 9

This is an opportunity to meet other families who have children with special needs and enjoy a chat whilst your children discover bubble tubes, touchy feely fabrics and fibre optic lights. They meet every Tuesday at North Abingdon Children’s Centre from 1 - 2.30 pm.

OASIS
(Oxfordshire Autistic Society for Information and Support)

This is a parent and carer support group run by parent volunteers for those bringing up children and young people on the broad Autistic Spectrum. They offer a wide range of activities across the County including informal coffee mornings, organised playday activities and regular communication via email or post, by newsletter and information updates.  They also offer evening meetings with guest speakers on many relevant subjects.

SHIFT

Shift is an informal group of parents and carers of children with special needs.  They meet in Dunmore Primary School in Abingdon during term time on alternate Thursdays and Fridays from 9 – 11am.

There is always coffee, chat and cake and some weeks they have a visiting speaker.  They do not run a crèche but preschool age children are welcome and there are plenty of toys.

Swings and Smiles

Swings & Smiles offers play sessions for children with special needs and their whole family at our centre in Thatcham. They have specialist play resources to enable children with a wide range of disabilities to play with siblings and other family members in a secure and safe environment.

Thomley Hall

Thomley Activity Centre is a recreational facility for disabled children, their families, friends and schools in Worminghall. The centre is open to different groups from 10am - 3.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, throughout the year.

They also hold days for toddlers, teenagers, children from the community, disabled adults, as well as organising Quiet days and Dad Day’s.

They have an excellent website where you can get information on everything they do and booking details. Places do fill very fast and booking in advance is essential.
